Overview
This learning resource addresses a pressing need to teach new university students how to recognize and avoid plagiarism, and build their academic referencing skills.
I worked with SMEs to identify the scope of the package and proceeded to develop an interactive package which blends the required knowledge about plagiarism and academic integrity with practical exercises in correct referencing, as well as raising students’ awareness of the university’s academic misconduct procedures.
I arranged usability testing of the package with more than 10 current university students. I incorporated the crucial points from their feedback in the final version of this learning experience.
In the first year after the launch the resource has been used by almost 1000 students. From the academic year 2022-2023, it will be included in most undergraduate courses across the university, reaching well over 20,000 students.
